Pure, clean and elegant with a refined texture and beautiful, delicate flavours of citrus, apple & almond, bright minerality and excellent length. Not just for toasting, this beautiful Champagne would be perfect with everything from oysters to foie gras to French fries. (GB - Tidings, January 2012)
Terroir-driven, rich with berry, spice and mineral. Wonderfully full-bodied, this is ripe, yet remains elegant and focussed with a tight structure, superb midpalate concentration and a long, fresh finish. A very classy wine. Held up extremely well to the chicken tikka and tandoori paneer. (GB - Tidings, August 2010)
Full and ripe black cherry, blackberry, and plum with firm tannins, medium-body, with hints of game and spices and a touch of smoke on the silky, fresh finish. A nice wine from an underrated producer. (GB - Tidings, August 2010)
PTG refers to "Passetoutgrain" the classic Gamay-Pinot Noir blended wine from Burgundy. JoieFarm's version has ripe cherry aromas and flavours with a nice spiciness. It is showing a little heavy on the oak, but that may settle with a little more time in the bottle. A good match with roasted meat dishes. (GB - Tidings, February 2011)
Bright and refreshing, a zinger of a rosé with aromas and flavours of strawberries, cherries, citrus and dried herbs with great acid to balance the sweet ripe fruit, lightly grippy tannins, finishing with a creamy texture balanced with a pleasant zippiness. Gamay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris. Grilled salmon is a natural as is Tandoori chicken. (GB - Tidings, April 2012)
Clean, spirited and rich but not heavy, marked by fresh, lively fruit flavours and nice touches of yeastiness and vanilla, spice and nutty accents. Combines great balance and lovely flavours. (GB - Tidings, September 2008)
Elegant and approachable with aromas and flavours of dark cherry, raspberry, red currants, cola and an intriguing earthiness. Great balance, soft, supple tannins and vibrant with a nice underlying structure and fresh bit of acidity on the silky finish. Great with salmon, roast chicken and pork, roasted portobello mushrooms. The perfect picnic wine. (GB - Tidings, February 2012)
A dark, delicious, super powerful, full-bodied and full-flavoured wine, showing deep complexity from mineral, currant, toasted oak, spice, wildberries and black cherry flavours, a long, delightful finish with impressively supple and ripe tannins. Super structure and balance. Forget about this in the cellar for about 5 years to give it a chance to develop even more layers. (GB - Tidings, August 2010)
Beautifully crafted, ripe, rich, supple, elegant and balanced, showing fleshy plum, blueberry and blackberry flavours that are pure and focused, with firm tannins, a touch of earth, ending with a nice minerally edge that offers even greater depth. Will continue to develop over the next five years. (GB - Tidings, January 2011)
Dark with elegant, rich aromas of ripe plum, blackberry and black cherry, all woven together in a complex package. Firm but polished tannins keep it rich and mouth-coating with great depth and concentration. A couple of years in the cellar will only make this better. (GB - Tidings, June 2010)
Polished, silky and complex, velvety at the edges, with a glowing core of bright cherry, raspberry, currant and dark plum fruit surrounded by hints of earth, tea and a natural Okanagan savouriness. The texture is soft and the flavours pure as it all comes together on the long, gentle finish. (GB - Tidings, April 2012)
Beautiful aromas of roses, raspberries, strawberry and wild berry fruit with the ripe flavours cascading on the palate with a silky texture, excellent structure, length and dimension with more bright wild berry and cherry fruit on the long, elegant and delicate finish. Perfect with traditional Pinot Noir pairings such as salmon, but also an excellent match with Indian cuisine. (GB - Tidings, November 2011)
A fun and lively rosé with a zesty, vibrant, strawberry, and bright raspberry character and a juicy, citrusy finish. A great summer sipper and perfect match for bbq salmon, grilled hot dogs, and lamb carpaccio. A blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. (GB - Tidings, March 2011)
A fun and fresh, slightly sparkly blend of Pinot Noir and Merlot showing lovely juicy raspberry, cherry, and strawberry flavours, and a lovely refreshing acidity. (GB - Tidings, June 2010)
