From one the best producers in Montalcino comes this intriguing and dense blend of Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah. Winemaker Pablo Harri's elegant touch is evident in this supple, yet powerful wine. The colour is dense and the bouquet intense. Extraordinarily balanced and multidimensional with flavours of ripe black cherries, blackberries, black currants, dark plums, and hints of cocoa. The finish is long and persistent. Wild game and braised meats will marry well. (GB - Tidings, June 2009)
Complex aromas of light plum, hints of Christmas spice and liquorice, full-bodied with big, underlying velvety tannins, tons of fruit, multi-dimensional penetrating flavours and a long, long finish. Extremely well balanced and classy. Perhaps Sicily's best red wine. (GB - Tidings, June 2011)
Intriguing aromas of spice, tobacco, and meat with flavours of cherry, cranberry, spice and smoke, firm tannins and a touch of acidity. Lean, but firm with a savoury finish. Try with grilled pork. (GB - Tidings, September 2010)
Warm aromas of mocha, black berry, spice, pepper, coffee, and vanilla with hints of barnyard. Full, flavours of cassis, spice and coffee with a firm, but fresh structure and nice balance. Misleading as it seems "light" at first, but has good underlying structure. Kept getting better even after being open for a few days on the counter. (GB - Tidings, September 2010)
Ripe and spicy aromas and flavours of blackberries and plums with the characteristic southern Okanagan savouriness. Lovely texture, round and easy to drink. (GB - Tidings, September 2010)
Fresh, bright, and refreshing with ripe silky flavours of blueberry, cherry, plum and currants, hints of mint, soft tannins and a pleasant juiciness on the lifted finish. A nice match with beef carpaccio. (GB -Tidings, November 2011)
Big and rich red blend of Cannonau and Cabernet Sauvignon, with lots of penetrating flavours of blackberry, black currant, cherry, plum, mineral, and a lovely jammy quality. Full-bodied, with a velvety texture, big, luxurious tannins and a long, elegant, multi-layered and flavourful finish. A delicious and fantastic wine. (GB - Tidings, November 2008)
Rich and ripe with dark flavours of blackberry, black currants, black cherry and hints of mocha with firm, sleek tannins, great concentration and a rich finish. (GB - Tidings, November 2011)
Deliciously elegant, youthful, rich, vibrant and complex, with deep, sharply focussed, ripe cassis, plum, black cherry, blackberry, spice, and chocolate with excellent structure and depth of flavour and a long, complex aftertaste. Firm, ripe and fresh with great concentration and complexity. A tremendous value. (GB - Tidings, June 2010)
Killer blend of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Montepulciano from one of Marche's leading producers. Rich and dense, with loads of mineral, blackberry and light vanilla character. Full-bodied, and multi-dimensional with firm, chewy tannins and a long, long finish. Slightly tight but with good structure and acidity. Will age well and develop over the next 8-10 years. (GB - Tidings, November 2008)
Deep and complex, rich in colour, aroma, and flavour, supple, but firm in texture with multi-layers of flavour with tons of plum, cherry, vanilla, chocolate and anise, vibrant and exciting with a long, long finish. A great wine. (GB - Tidings, September 2010)
Aromas of violets and blackcurrants with subtle fruit on the palate encased in mineral, earth and clay, quite approachable but far from being simple. Great character and a tremendous value. Baga, Touriga Nacional, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. (GB - Tidings, August 2011)
A brickhouse. Dark, structured, still very closed, but starting to show its phenomenal pedigree. Aromas and flavours of currants, wildberries and tar with a huge body, big and tight mid-palate, firm tannins and a long, berry, vanilla aftertaste. Needs a little more time to really express itself. Another amazing wine from Silvia Imparato. (GB - Tidings, May 2011)
Ripe and full of personality, with aromas and flavours of raspberry, strawberry, hints of spice and great balance between sweetness and crisp acidity. An intriguing blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. (GB - Tidings, March 2011)
Intense and complex blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Ripe and concentrated with layers of rich black cherries, and dark plums with hints of mocha, coffee, spice and subtle oak. Full and velvety with firm silky tannins and a long, luscious finish. You could drink it now, but give it a few years to really develop. (GB - Tidings, July 2008)
A very expressive and aromatic wine. Ripe, rich, juicy and polished, with layers of black cherry, currant, and plum that are deeply concentrated, elegant and lively. Well-structured with firm, yet lush tannins with a light overlay of toasty, oak. The flavours linger on the long, rich aftertaste. (GB - Tidings, November 2007)
Dark, round and full with rich flavours of cherry, blackberries, and currants, hints of earth and cocoa, velvety tannins and a pleasing mineral quality on the full finish. (GB - Tidings, November 2011)
